Skill Updates
Victory or Death
The Guild Lord will now use his axe when combating other Guild Lords.
NPCs during Victory or Death will do 30% more damage, and an additional 10% more damage each minute after Victory or Death.
Monk
Aura of Stability: decreased duration to 3..10 seconds.
Dervish
Pious Assault: decreased activation time to .5 seconds.
Warrior
Fear Me: increased recharge time to 6 seconds.
Ritualist
Sight Beyond Sight: reverted duration back to 8..20 seconds.

Bug Fixes
Skills
Victory or Death
Fixed a bug that prevents the Guild Lord in GvG from charging into melee range when fighting the opposing Guild Lord.
Elementalist
Fixed a bug that caused the Elementalist skill 'Unsteady Ground' to fail if its target died before the casting time completed.
Mesmer
Fixed an incorrect error message for the Mesmer skill 'Simple Thievery'.
Fixed a bug that prevented the Mesmer skill 'Signet of Illusions' from applying the user's Illusion attribute to certain spell effects.
Monk
Fixed a bug that prevented the Monk skill 'Patient Spirit' from displaying its healed amount to the caster.
Armor
Fixed a bug that caused a visible gap at the elbow when Obsidian Armor (Necromancer male) was worn with certain combinations of other armor.
Quest
Fixed a bug in the quest named "A New Guide" that caused the quest log to show an incorrect location for Curator Ruras.
UI
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the character-select screen to display the selected character's home campaign incorrectly, and to falsely state that the character could not be used.
Fixed a bug that caused distant Heroes to incorrectly display a change in Health instead of Energy when under the effects of some skills. For example, a Hero using Storm Djinn's Haste while beyond compass range would appear to lose approximately 10 Health per second instead of the actual 1 Energy per second.
Miscellaneous
Made preparations for the Bonus Mission Pack to be sold via the in-game store.

Miscellaneous
Charr Bladestorms found in Guild Wars: Eye of the North now wield swords instead of axes to match their equipped skills.
Damned Crewmen in the Shards of Orr now have Clamor of Souls instead of Destructive Was Glaive to remedy large spike damage that occurs when these creatures disappear during final boss encounter.
Updated Automated Tournament map rotations.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug in Eye of the North that could allow players to accept the Smell of Titan in the Morning quest before saving Captain Langmar, thus preventing these players from turning the quest in when completed.
Fixed a bug with some male player armor combinations involving Chaos Gloves, Glacial Gauntlets, Destroyer Gauntlets, and Stone Gauntlets that could leave a gap at the left elbow.

Canthan New Year
Made preparations for the Canthan New Year's Festival, which begins at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT), February 8, 2008, and runs until Noon Pacific, February 11, 2008.
Party Animal Title Track
Added the Party Animal title track and support for it in the Hall of Monuments. Players can gain points toward the Party Animal title by using various festive items, including Bottle Rockets, Champagne Poppers, Sparklers, Ghost-in-the-Boxes, Squash Serums, Snowman Summoners, Beetle Juice Tonics, Yuletide Tonics, and Transmogrifier Tonics.
Skill Updates
We will evaluate the following changes this week. Additional adjustments may be made during that time.
All
Decreased the variance in trebuchet impacts in GvG by reducing the target deviation and increasing the area-of-effect.
Health sacrifice now displays as a skill cost.
Victory or Death
Victory or Death: increased the damage to 25%.
NPCs receive an additional 5% damage bonus each minute after Victory or Death.
Added "Victory is Ours," a new GvG feature that activates at the same time as Victory or Death, giving players on the team with the most NPCs a 15% damage increase.
Archers now stand farther apart at Victory or Death.
Trebuchets no longer work after Victory or Death.
The Bodyguard and Guild Thief now receive a smaller damage bonus than other NPCs at Victory or Death.
Mesmer
Power Leak: decreased target foe's Energy loss to 1..5.
Clumsiness: increased casting time to 2 seconds; increased recharge time to 10 seconds; now affects adjacent foes.
Ether Feast: increased healing to 20..50 Health per Energy lost by target.
Hex Breaker: changed skill type from stance to skill.
Ineptitude: decreased duration to 4 seconds.
Wandering Eye: decreased duration to 4 seconds; increased casting time to 2 seconds, increased recharge time to 10 seconds; increased damage to 10..92.
Drain Enchantment: decreased Energy cost to 5 Energy; decreased Energy gain to 8..13 Energy.

Hexer's Vigor: decreased casting time to .25 seconds.

Changed the item boxes in Rollerbeetle Racing to only be collectible once per player.
Added additional base defenders to the Alliance Battles.
The Xunlai Tournament House NPC now offers prizes for January and can be found in the Great Temple of Balthazar, Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, and Kamadan.

Congratulations January Automated Tournament Winners!
Murder Za, previously October's champion, defeated X Ekelon X to become the January Hero Battle champion. In the GvG scene, Mistral Edge [Me], a Japanese guild that finished second in November, defeated the European guild Close Encounter [cE] to seize the GvG championship.
The final match reports are now available, as are the complete tournament standings, the updated tournament rules, and the ever-popular skill usage charts. Enjoy!
